and re-usability. It consists of a number of components that
together provide the full functionality of the desktop
environment. They are packaged separately and you can pick and
choose from the available packages to create the best personal
Xfce 4 can be installed on several UNIX platforms. It is known
to compile on Linux, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris, Cygwin and MacOS
X, on x86, PPC, Sparc, Alpha.

Install Xfce in
#apt-get install xfce
This will install a meta package, which will install the core
XFCE modules and scripts to get it to work.
There are many useful utilities that come with XFCE, to install
#apt-get install xfcalendar xfce4-iconbox xfce4-mixer
xfce4-systray xfce4-toys xfce4-trigger-launcher xfprint4
If you want to install more packages install all the below
packages using the following command
#apt-get install xfce4-appfinder xfce4-artwork
xfce4-battery-plugin xfce4-clipman-plugin xfce4-datetime-plugin
